William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (14+)

A star-studded cast brings Shakespeare's most magical play to life, headed by Michelle Pfeiffer as the fairy Queen and Kevin Kline as Bottom, her unlikely lover. Also starring Calista Flockhart who plays Helena. The setting for this modern version takes place in northern Italy near the end of the nineteenth century. The Ontario Place program brings this Shakespeare classic to life on the large Cinesphere screen.

India: Kingdom
of the Tiger

This film will take viewers on a magic carpet ride through India, examining the history of this ancient land and the developmental and environmental challenges facing this fast-growing country. The spine of the film will be a story seen through the eyes of one of India's most mysterious and compelling animals - the tiger.

Beyond Time

Take a trek across the Australian Outback; from red, weathered sand dunes to cascading waterfalls and lush wildlife.  Audiences discover how Australia's unique plant and animal life has adapted to often threatening and tumultuous conditions and the film provides a rare, close-up look at Australia's extraordinary wildlife in its natural state.

The Amazon is the mightiest river in the world, the lifeblood for whole civilizations and home to more than 5,000 different species of fish and more than 60,000 different species of plants that live on its banks.  This film takes the audience on a journey of discovery of the river's wonders, inhabitants and remarkable healing powers.

Journey Into
Amazing Caves

Join award winning filmmaker Greg MacGillivray and a group of scientists as they scuba dive through underwater caves in South America, descend into 500 foot ice caves in Greenland and explore underground caves in the Grand Canyon.  All of this done in the search for extremites, tiny micro-organisms that have never seen daylight or have been frozen in ice for thousands of years.

Dive in with two scientists studying these elusive animals in the crystalline waters of the Bahamas and wind-swept seas of Patagonia. Mysteries of Egypt

Legendary actor and native Egyptian, Omar Sharif guides you through the many mysteries that surround the over 5,000 year old Egyptian civilization. Everest is the story of amazing achievements, taking audiences on an inspirational and spell-binding ascent with an international team of climbers. This film brings the story of the tallest Himalayan peak to life and explores one of humanity's greatest adventures.

Super Speedway

Buckle up. SUPER SPEEDWAY puts audiences in the cockpit of an Indy car and catapults them into world championship auto racing action at mind-bending speeds in excess of 230 miles per hour. At the core of the film's action is Michael Andretti and the Newman/Haas racing team for which he drives. Set against the drama of the track are two story lines that follow the remarkable craft of creating Indy cars: the restoration of a 1964 roadster - a thoroughbred once driven at Indianapolis - and the building of Michael Andretti's state-of-the-art Indy car at the Lola car plant in England.

Search for the Great Sharks

SEARCH FOR THE GREAT SHARKS takes viewers on a round-the-globe expedition to discover some of the world's largest sharks and witness them at close range. From the coast of California to the remote reaches of South and Western Australia, this film pursues blue sharks, whale sharks, and, the most notorious of all, the great white. The Giant Screen format creates a unique sense of closeness to these awesome creatures.
 

China: The Panda Adventure

IMAX takes you on an unforgettable journey back in time to China in 1936.  Based on a true story, Ruth Harnkenss, a fiercely independent American woman goes to the bamboo forests of China to discover the truth about her late husband's demise.  Instead, she discovers more than she expected, as she learns about the great Giant Panda.  Through bravery, perseverance and sheer determination, she overcomes many obstacles to bring the western world its first sight of this beautiful, gentle animal.

Tropical Rainforest

Follow the 400 million-year evolution of tropical rainforests and their recent and rapid destruction. This film has close-up scenes of animals including leaf-cutting ants inside their nest, butterflies, hummingbirds and monkeys. Viewers will gain better appreciation of the importance of tropical rainforests on a global scale.
