Mysteries of Egypt
Cinesphere IMAX® Education Series Double Feature “Mysteries of Egypt” + one other film and the ROM’s Ancient Egypt lesson.
One of the Royal Ontario Museum’s most popular topics, the Ancient Egypt lesson reveals the vigour of this civilization and its incredible longevity. Students can inspect over 1,600 artifacts that provide fascinating information about ancient Egyptian life, religion and history.
Ring of Fire
Cinesphere IMAX® Education Series Double Feature “Ring of Fire” + one other film and the ROM’s Rocks & Minerals Lab Lesson.
The ROM’s immensely popular hands-on lab allows students to examine a wide range of rocks and minerals. Students will investigate more than 40 specimens of rocks and minerals, identifying examples of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock, and performing tests to identify particular minerals.
Dinosaurs, Giants of Patagonia
Cinesphere IMAX® Education Series Double Feature “Dinosaurs, Giants of Patagonia” + one other film and the ROM’s Dinosaurs lesson.
For 130 million years dinosaurs dominated the Earth. In present day, students can witness these ancient reptiles at Ontario Place in the documentary film, Dinosaurs, Giants of Patagonia. Presented on the huge six storey Cinesphere screen with digital surround sound, the film takes the audience back to the Cretaceous period to meet creatures like the immense Argentinosaurus and the meat-eating Gigantosaurus. At the ROM, students will engage in a hands-on experience with almost 400 specimens at the new dinosaur galleries. There they will meet Tyrannosaurus rex, touch real dinosaur bones, and learn about the remarkable flying reptiles and giant sea creatures of bygone eras (Grades 2 & up).
