Ontario Place commemorates Canada's 143rd birthday
with an explosive celebration

Canada Day festivities are taking over Ontario Place this July 1st as Toronto’s favourite waterfront playground celebrates our nation’s 143rd birthday. All day the park will be filled with exciting entertainment that will end with a bang as the Festival of Fire takes over the night sky. The show features all-Canadian music and begins at 10:30pm.

Festival of Fire fireworks

Exciting first show: Earth Rangers "Take Back the Wild" presented by Ontario Power Generation

  • kids will learn the importance of being environmentally conscious by
    interacting with live Animal Ambassadors

West Coast Lumberjack Show

  • features chainsaw carving, saw racing, and axe throwing

Vertical Strut Acrobatic Show

  • two trampolines, one wall, incredible acrobatics!

Michael White's Animal House Band

  • a dynamic mix of classic rock and Motown

Angelina Ballerina Live

  • Angelina Ballerina returns to Ontario Place for some storytelling fun

July 1

Canada Day & Festival of Fire
Don't miss your chance to celebrate Canada's 143rd birthday at Toronto's favourite place for family fun. Enjoy great entertainment throughout the day including live music, buskers, fire performers and other exciting performances. Cap off your day with a night of spectacular Festival of Fire pyrotechnics at 10:30pm.

West Coast Lumberjack Show
This show gets the Canadian spirit going. Straight from the forests of Squamish, British Columbia, this team of professionals proves that lumberjacks can do more then just look good in plaid. The show is filled with unforgettable feats of strength, agility and speed. Four lumberjacks will compete in the spirit of friendly competition. Their crowd-pleasing competitions include speed sawing, pole climbing, and axe wielding skills. 

Acrobat Show
Enjoy an amazing team of incredibly talented professional trampoline acrobats reach unbelievable heights while performing breathtaking tricks at Ontario Place. Audiences of all ages will love this high-flying performance, be impressed by the acrobats’ athleticism and captivated by the daredevil stunts.

Michael White's Animal House Band
In the evening check out Michael White's Animal House band, which will perform a dynamic mix of classic rock and Motown that will be sure to get audiences dancing and excited to enjoy the night's vibrant Festival of Fire presentation.

July 1 – July 4

Angelina Ballerina
Angelina Ballerina returns to Ontario Place for some storytelling fun. A narrator and extra-large storybook accompany Angelina for daily performances on the Treehouse Live! Stage.

Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby Meet 'n' Greet
Some of your favourite Sesame Street characters come to life in the park for fun and photos!

July 1 – July 25

Earth Rangers
Ontario Place has partnered with Earth Rangers to give kids an exciting chance to discover nature in an unforgettable way. Kids will learn how to be environmentally conscious by interacting with "Animal Ambassadors." These animals of all shapes and sizes help tell the story of how animal lives have been impacted by human actions.

July 2 - July 3

Sony 3-D Days
Now this is cool: Sony is launching incredible 3-D TVs and Ontario Place is hosting an exclusive sneak preview! Sony's new TVs are the first to bring breathtaking 3-D effects into the living room and Ontario Place is the place to check them out.

July 3

Festival of Fire
See the skies light up over Toronto with the spectacular Festival of Fire at Ontario Place. The Festival of Fire is back with world-class fireworks choreographed to the world’s finest music over three nights. Additional entertainment surrounds each day, with entertainers performing throughout the park leading up to the fireworks. The shows start at 10:30pm, each night.

Enjoy an amazing team of incredibly talented and professional trampoline acrobats reach unbelievable heights while performing breathtaking tricks at Ontario Place. Audiences of all ages will love this high-flying performance, be impressed by the acrobats’ athleticism and captivated by the daredevil stunts.

Midnight Blue
Midnight Blue is taking to the stage playing your favourite tunes that will be sure to get your toes tapping. For 20 years this Canadian five-member band from Wiarton, Ontario has entertained audiences playing a mix of musical classics and current favourites. Their combination of classic rock, classic country and a touch of Maritime Pub music is sure to delight guests of all ages.  

July 3 - July 4

Extreme Wake Series
Prepare to be blown away by the incredible abilities of the Extreme Wake Series' wakeboarders. Flying along the water these daredevils hit some gnarly tricks but there's always the danger of a wipe-out. This jaw-dropping show is not to be missed!

Tall Ships Parade of Sail at Ontario Place
Ontario Place is the official destination to catch the Parade of Sail of the American Sail Training Association's Tall Ships Challenge in Toronto. Send our Tall Ships visitors a fond farewell as a fleet of 15 – 20 vessels sail past Ontario Place in a 2-hour procession of pomp and pageantry. Ceremonies include cannon blasts, foreign anthems, colour commentary and crew salutes! Part of the Redpath Toronto Waterfront Festival.

July 5 – July 18

Barney at Ontario Place
Barney, the famous purple dinosaur, will make a special return appearance at Ontario Place this summer. Sing and dance with Barney and keep the kids entertained all day long!

July 5 – July 11

Mister Maker Craft Area
Mister Maker is the ultimate children's arts and crafts show which teaches and entertains in fun and imaginative ways. Children love joining in with Mister Maker on TV and now they can have even more fun in the Mister Maker Craft Area where they can cut, glue, paint and draw!

July 6

$20 Tuesdays at Ontario Place

Punjabi Day
Enjoy a vibrant display of culture and explore exciting Punjabi food, music and dance shows. Catch a variety of enchanting young artists singing, dancing and entertaining audiences with hit songs. Young and energetic artists such as Inderjit Nikku, Lehmber Hussainpuri, Gitta Bains, Harpreet Dhillon and Jaspreet Jassi take to the stage to deliver unforgettable performances! Silver screen stars such as Jimmy shergill, Neeru bajwa and Gippy Grewal will grace Ontario Place’s Heritage Square stage. Ontario Place’s Punjabi Day is not only a fantastic celebration of Punjabi culture but also a star-studded event you can’t afford to miss!

Great Big Theatre Company
Experience an amazing adventure when you join Great Big Theatre Company's 'ACTING UP' workshops, which are full of exciting storytelling and dramatic improvisations. Audience members can participate in creating an exciting assortment of costumed characters and interact with different characters to delight family and friends.

July 19 – 25

Purina Pro Plan Dog Show
Drop by Ontario Place for a full week of dog shows! Featuring the specially trained McCann Dogs, who will leap through hoops, race through tunnels, jump over hurdles and test their balance on teeter-totters.

Toopy and Binoo at Ontario Place
Prepare to fall in love with Toopy and Binoo, whose imaginations and adorable personalities are bound to inspire and amuse children all over the world. Binoo loves to follow Toopy on incredible imaginary adventures. Toopy and Binoo are a hit with pre-schoolers everywhere.

Play-Doh Play Space
Kids will squish, squeeze, stretch, roll, flatten, pinch and bend to make new modeling creations in the Play-Doh Play Space!
