The Culinary Ontario festival is the ultimate gourmet celebration of the province’s 150th anniversary. The free admission 4-day festival will showcase Ontario’s diverse culinary culture as well as lots of activities and entertainment. Join us Victoria Day long weekend for a taste of Ontario’s best in food and drink. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase. So join us and indulge in all the incredible flavours that define our beautiful province!

Our shipping container village is sure to inspire and delight your taste buds. We’re bringing a farmer’s market right to you, including local and artisanal prepared foods, chef created tasting plates, and culinary focused goods all available for purchase.

Who doesn’t love free samples? Our sample zone will feature daily tastings and pairings for guests to indulge in. Local food, wine, beer, cider and spirits vendors will not only offer free samples of their flavours, but if something really wins you over you can purchase and take it home for later.

Meet emerging chefs, take a cooking lesson and vote in the children’s cooking challenge.

Local and Emerging Chefs

Meet Ontario’s talented chefs from across the province. They’ll show off their technical skills and make your mouth water with the tastes and smells of deliciously cooked meals. Multi-ethnic cooking demonstrations will feature some of Ontario’s well-known local chefs as well as the up-and-comers that reflect the diversity of Ontario’s culinary scene.

Children’s Cooking Competition

Children’s Cooking Competition

How the tables have turned! Things will heat up in the kitchen as we host a cook-off for kids. Let’s see how they fare when it comes to putting together a great dish. Kids will be selected from the audience to make their version of a favourite Canadian meal. The audience will become the judges and rate each dish on creativity and taste. Of course, it’s all in the name of fun, so everyone is a winner and will get to bask in the winner’s circle in front of a full audience.

Watch a drone light show, eat a selfie cookie and play with digital graffiti.

Drone Light Show

On Saturday at 11pm the sky over Ontario Place will come alive with a unique Drone Light Show festival performance. This curated spectacle was developed by the team at Arrowonics, the first company in Canada to produce a drone show of this kind. Watch as 30 drones, each with their own LED colours, fly and dance overhead for a performance like no other with this amazing Ontario built technology. Considered a festival highlight, don’t miss this amazing show happening every Saturday during each of the Ontario150 festivals at Ontario Place this summer.

Art Installations

Ontario artists will bring creativity and culture to the festival grounds along the North Walk. Come and watch as they paint spectacular works of art on Friday and Saturday or view the finished work on Sunday and Monday that you’ll no doubt want to Instagram.

Have an appetite for some cool technology? Take part in some of Ontario’s most innovative and free family-friendly activations. Play with our digital 10-foot wide graffiti wall, turn your selfie into a cookie with edible fondant or create a Canadian maple leaf bottle opener with our 3D printer using a penny.
